Have you ever been to the Disney World Boardwalk? I didn’t think so. Many vacationers to Walt Disney World miss this hidden gem. The boardwalk is one of my favorite things to do in the evening while at Disney World.
The Disney World Boardwalk is located near Epcot and is at the center of the Epcot Resort Area. The hotels that surround the boardwalk are the Disney’s Swan and Dolphin, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club and Disney’s Boardwalk Inn.
The boardwalk blends the timeless charm of a 1930s Atlantic coastal village with entertaining contemporary attractions. Stroll along the water’s edge for great views and good times. With a wealth of shopping, unique dining and fun-filled entertainment, it’s your best bet for a day or night out this side of Atlantic City.
There are plenty of great places to eat along the boardwalk including, Big River Grille & Brewing Works, ESPN® Club, Flying Fish Café, and Spoodles.
In the evening, there are street performers that perform magic, comedy and juggling. They are a lot of fun to watch and usually generate a nice crowd. You can even rent a surrey cart which allows 4 people to peddle around the boardwalk and take in the sights and sounds.
If you are looking for a romatic evening a stroll around the boardwalk definitely fits that description.
There is also shopping along the Disney World Boardwalk. Along the BoardWalk you’ll find the Screen Door General Store, with a variety of Disney merchandise, as well as sundries and some grocery items. Disney’s Character Carnival on the BoardWalk, features adult and golf apparel, accessories, plus Disney character merchandise for all ages. Thimbles & Threads has ladies, children and infant apparel, plus Disney character plush, toys and accessories. The unique Wyland Galleries, located near the entrance of the BoardWalk Inn, is a classic gallery of marine life, featuring internationally renowned artist Wyland and others. The Yard, next to the ESPN Club, has authentic ESPN merchandise. Plus, the BoardWalk features a well-stocked Pin Station to satisfy even the most avid collector. Other shops are located in the Boardwalk lobby, as well as a short walk away in the nearby Yacht & Beach Clubs, and the Swan and Dolphin resorts.
Getting to the Disney World Boardwalk is easy.
